Bokaj Watermelon Apron
The flag of Palestine, colored in colors red, green, white and black, had been banned in the occupied territories in certain situations, leading to the locally-grown and similarly-colored watermelon taking its place in Palestinian iconography as an alternative for decades.
Product Details:
Black apron with watermelon design
Cotton, synthetic blend material. Drill fabric - 65% polyester, 35% cotton.
Designed to suit different sizes, unisex design.
From Bethlehem’s stone streets, this product began a long journey. Carried across checkpoints, borders, and shipping routes, it has travelled all the way to so-called Australia — each stage a reminder of the restrictions Palestinian artisans face in bringing their work to the world. 100% of your purchase goes directly to supporting the artist economically, and helps cover shipping fees.
