PROJECT SEVEN: HANDMADE IN PALESTINE. SUPPORTING WEST BANK ARTISANS

SEPTEMBER DECEMBER 2025

DONATION GOAL

AU $20,000.00

Handmade in Palestine was created to directly support Palestinian artists and traditional artisans across the West Bank. Over the past several years, we have developed close relationships with many of these makers — friendships built through trust, collaboration, and shared community values. Through this project, we’ve established safe shipping routes and partnered with small, family-run workshops to bring their ceramics, textiles, olivewood pieces, and artworks to international audiences — some for the very first time. Every item is purchased ethically and transparently, with 100% of costs going straight to the artists and small businesses who created them.

Our goal is to invest $20,000 AUD directly into the Palestinian economy, strengthening livelihoods and sustaining the cultural traditions held within these crafts. Many of the makers we work with rely on their art as their primary income, yet face increasing challenges due to movement restrictions, loss of tourism, and the collapse of local markets. This project creates meaningful, long-term income pathways by connecting their work with supporters abroad who value handmade craft, cultural preservation, and ethical purchasing.

Each piece in this collection carries the story of its maker, their family, and the land it comes from. From Hebron’s hand-painted ceramics to Bethlehem’s olivewood work and the woven textiles of West Bank studios, every item is a testament to Palestinian creativity, endurance, and heritage. Handmade in Palestine invites people around the world to support these artists directly — helping ensure that these traditions not only survive, but continue to grow.
