PROJECT Five: CRISIS AID FOR A GAZAN FAMILY

MAY 2025 - ONGOING

DONATION GOAL

AU $20,000

Crisis Aid for a Gazan Family is a targeted, rights-based humanitarian project supporting a displaced family in Gaza during an ongoing and devastating period of violence and deprivation. With three young babies in their care and access to basic necessities severely restricted due to Israel’s ongoing illegal blockade, the family faces daily risks to their health, safety, and dignity.

Made in Palestine remains deeply committed to supporting Ahmed’s family through this crisis. Thanks to the generosity of our community, our previous fundraising efforts raised $8,000 AUD, which has been used to assist the family with their most urgent needs.

As conditions in Gaza continue to deteriorate, and pathways to safety and stability remain uncertain, we have made the decision to extend this project. We are now committed to raising a total of $20,000 AUD to provide sustained support to the family over a longer period.

Our approach prioritises transparency, direct assistance, and ongoing communication with the family. We work closely with their elder son, Ahmed, to ensure all aid is needs-based, neutral, and delivered with deep respect for the family’s safety, autonomy, and dignity.

Why We Extended This Project

In recent weeks, severe winter storms have swept across Gaza, causing widespread flooding and the collapse of makeshift tents where many displaced families are sheltering. For families already living with extreme scarcity, these conditions have further destroyed what little protection, warmth, and stability remained. With no safe infrastructure to return to and limited access to emergency relief, the risks facing Ahmed’s family have escalated significantly.

Extending this project allows us to respond to these worsening conditions with sustained, practical support — ensuring the family can continue to access food, medical care, warmth, and basic dignity during an increasingly dangerous period.

What the Project Provides

With a revised fundraising goal of $20,000 AUD, support will be delivered over time, without a fixed end date, for as long as assistance is needed and can be safely provided.

Direct Emergency Assistance

Funds are transferred directly to the family and used to access what is available locally, including:

  • Food and clean drinking water

  • Medical care, medications, and emergency health needs

  • Baby supplies, including nappies, formula, and hygiene items

  • Access to electricity and basic utilities

Shelter, Warmth, and Survival Support

As families across Gaza face repeated displacement and the collapse of temporary shelters, funds may also be used to support:

  • Emergency shelter materials or repairs to damaged tents

  • Blankets, warm clothing, and weather protection

  • Short-term measures to improve safety and living conditions during extreme weather events

All support is coordinated through trusted communication with Ahmed. We do not impose conditions on how economic aid is used, recognising the family as the experts in their own needs.
